Casa D.N. Sauris

Transformation of an old stavolo (a type of small stable traditionally used in Carnia and Cadore) - located in the picturesque village of Sauris - into a small house.

This project was a challenge due to a number of factors: the dilapidated structure in stone and wood, the very limited space, the environmental and municipal constraints, and a type of architecture that was difficut to work with. Thanks to the active participation of all those invoved in the renovation - including the complete demolition and reconstruction of the building - it was possible to create a home that, while taking into account anti-seismic, thermal, technical, and architectural barrier-suppression requirements, is both functional and perfectly integrated within the delicate mountain environment of the Saurana valley.
